MSpa International Limited was founded in January 1999 as Mandara Spa (Thailand) Limited by a joint venture between Royal Garden Resort Pcl (subsequently renamed Minor International Pcl or "MINT"), a listed company on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and Mandara Spa Asia. The company was initially established to operate and manage spa properties throughout Thailand.

In 2003, MINT and Mandara Spa Asia established yet another joint venture named Mandara Spa Ventures Limited for the purpose of expanding its spa business to China and the Indochina region.

In October 2004, MINT became the sole owner of both former joint ventures with the exclusive license to operate the Mandara Spa brand in Thailand, China, Indochina and other territories.

Recognizing the phenomenal growth in demand for niche, boutique and holistic spa brands, the company developed, designed and launched a new Spa brand and concept — Anantara Spa — at the end of 2004.

With their solid reputation for quality and sound financial performance earned through six years of operation, in September 2005, Mandara Spa (Thailand) Limited and Mandara Spa Ventures Limited consolidated to become MSpa International Limited. Supported by the success of its international, multi-brand expansion, the corporate structure and resources were enhanced to allow for the company's further development and growth of its brands throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa and emerging global markets. Today, with a collection of more than 20 spas worldwide, MSpa International is poised to take advantage of the phenomenal demand for well-managed and comprehensive spa facilities within hotels and resorts worldwide.
